Man from Oreshets detained for siphoning 190 liters of fuel from a truck

A 31-year-old resident of the village of Oreshets has been detained following a report of the theft of approximately 190 liters of fuel from a refrigerated semi-trailer parked in Sratzimirovo.

A 31-year-old man from the village of Oreshets has been detained on suspicion of stealing fuel from a heavy goods vehicle. He was taken into custody at the Kula Regional Police Department, police reported.

The report was filed on August 19 around 7:30 a.m. by the driver of a tractor unit with Plovdiv registration. The driver stated to emergency line 112 that approximately 190 liters of fuel had been siphoned from the tank of the attached refrigerated semi-trailer.

At the time of the incident, the cargo vehicle was parked for a rest stop at a roadside turnout in the village of Sratzimirovo.

An inspection was carried out on-site by an operational team. A few hours after the report was filed, detectives identified the suspected perpetrator and detained him.

A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated regarding the case. The investigation is ongoing to clarify all circumstances surrounding the theft and the potential involvement of other individuals.
