The water resource levels in the reservoirs as of March 23rd are 4845.6 million cubic meters, which represents 74.14% of their total volume. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW).

The “Asenovets” reservoir is 100% full, and the “Srechenska bara”, “Kamchia”, “Yasna polyana”, “Borovitsa”, “Studena”, “Domlyan”, “Pchelina” and “Krichim” reservoirs are over 90% full. “Asenovets”, “Pchelina” and “Pancharevo” are overflowing. Preventive discharge to ensure free volumes is being carried out at the “Studena”, “Trakiec” and “Aheloy” reservoirs. The MOEW manages the water resources in 52 significant and complex reservoirs.

According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), rain is expected in some places during the first half of this week, and snow in the mountains. For tomorrow, March 24th, NIMH is issuing a first-degree warning (yellow code) for significant rainfall in the Haskovo and Kardzhali regions, the MOEW informed.

In the middle of the week, the cloud cover will break up and decrease, and there will be almost no rainfall. Towards the end, the temperatures are expected to drop again, and there will be rainfall in many places, and snow in the mountains.

The MOEW reminds local authorities to apply the measures provided for in the Flood Risk Management Plans 2022-2027 and to follow the current hydrometeorological information and forecasts for dangerous phenomena, published on the official website of the ministry.
