Wizz Air does not support the European Parliament's proposal for free hand luggage for passengers. This became clear from a statement by Owen Jones, the company's chief corporate director, during an online event.

Jones pointed out three main reasons for the airline's position. First, the basic fare does not include hand luggage of certain dimensions with the aim of the lowest price for passengers. Second, baggage control is key to keeping schedules. Third, more luggage means more fuel and, accordingly, a negative impact on sustainability.

Ian Malin, Wizz Air's chief commercial officer, stated that the company is not affected by fuel shortages due to the conflict in the Middle East, due to risk hedges. Wizz Air also presented a 3-year Customer First Compass development plan worth EUR 14 billion, which aims to put customers at the center. The company reports 99.5% completion of its flights and plans to hire 2,000 new employees this year. 80 million passengers are expected by 2026.
