Weather for August 25: Sun, heat, and calm seas near Burgas

August 25 will be mostly sunny and hot. Along the Black Sea coast, temperatures of 26°-30° are expected, with sea water at 24°-25° and winds up to moderate from the southeast.

On August 25, the weather in Bulgaria will be mostly sunny and hot. In the interior of the country, temperatures will reach between 33° and 38°, while it will be cooler along the Black Sea coast due to the influence of the sea breeze. In some mountainous and western regions, temporary cloud development is not excluded in the afternoon, but the conditions for precipitation generally remain limited.

Weather in Burgas and the region

In Burgas and along the Southern Black Sea coast, mostly sunny weather is expected. Morning temperatures will be around 19°-21°, and daytime values will reach 26°-30°.

The probability of precipitation in Burgas region is low. A light, and in the afternoon moderate, southeasterly wind will blow at a speed of about 4-8 m/s, with gusts of up to about 10-12 m/s possible in exposed coastal areas.

The temperature of the sea water near Burgas will be around 24°-25°. The sea state is expected to be calm, about 1-2 degrees (Douglas sea scale). The preliminary assessment for bathing conditions is a green flag, but tourists should comply with the signaling of lifeguards and the local conditions of the specific beach.

Sofia and the region

In Sofia and the region, the day will begin with sun. The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 34°, and in some parts of the region, values may be slightly higher.

A light wind will blow, mainly from the east. Precipitation is unlikely, but cumulus clouds may develop in the mountainous parts of the region in the afternoon. Sea water temperature and flag assessments for bathing do not apply to Sofia and the region.

Eastern and Western Bulgaria

Mostly sunny weather will prevail in Eastern Bulgaria. The wind will be moderate from the southeast, which will limit daytime temperatures compared to the western regions. In the plains, maximum values will be mostly between 31° and 35°, and the probability of precipitation will remain low.

It will be hot in Western Bulgaria, with many sunny hours. Temperatures in some places will reach 36°-38°. The wind will be light, and in the afternoon, temporary increases in cloud cover are possible over mountainous areas. The probability of short-term local precipitation is small.

Sea water temperature and bathing signaling do not apply to the inland regions of Eastern and Western Bulgaria.

Weather in the mountains

In the mountains, it will be mostly sunny, with temporary increases in cloud cover in the afternoon. Higher parts will remain favorable for tourism, but in the afternoon hours, it is recommended to plan routes with an earlier descent from exposed ridges.

The wind will be light to moderate, mainly from the south-southeast. The maximum temperature at 1200 meters will be around 28°, and at 2000 meters – around 21°. The probability of precipitation is low, but a single short-term thunderstorm is not excluded in individual massifs.

Sea water temperature and flag assessments for bathing do not apply to mountainous regions.

Along the Black Sea coast

Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will remain mostly sunny. Maximum temperatures will be between 26° and 30°, and the sea water – around 24°-25°.

A light, and in the afternoon moderate, southeasterly wind will blow. The sea state will be calm, about 1-2 degrees. The preliminary assessment for bathing safety is a green flag, but the final signaling is determined on-site by the lifeguard teams.
