Today begins with clear and almost calm weather, forecasters promise. Early in the day, many places in the lowlands, valleys, as well as near water basins will be covered by fog or low layered clouds. This information was announced by the Bulgarian National Radio.
During the day, sunny weather is expected over most of the country. However, in the Danube Plain, the fog will persist almost all day, limiting visibility and creating a gloomy atmosphere.
The minimum temperatures for the day will be in the range between 3 and 8 degrees Celsius. In the valleys of Southwestern Bulgaria, thermometers will show slightly lower values, while in the capital Sofia, a temperature of 2 degrees is expected.
The maximum temperatures during the day will vary between 12 and 17 degrees, and in Sofia they will reach 14 degrees.
In the mountains today, sunny weather will prevail, ideal for mountain walks and sports. A moderate west-northwest wind will blow, which will refresh the air. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 11 degrees, and at 2000 meters above sea level it will remain around 3 degrees.
On the Black Sea coast, the morning will also be filled with fog or low layered clouds, foreshadowing limited visibility for residents and guests of the coastal cities. During the day, however, sunny weather is expected, which will lift the spirits. A light wind will blow, which will make the stay by the sea pleasant. The maximum temperatures will reach 14-15 degrees, a little lower than the temperature of the sea water. The sea swell is expected to be between 1 and 2 points, which suggests calm and suitable weather for sea walks.
