For the tenth porcelain year, the Bulgarian Hemophilia Association (BHA) joins the global community to mark April 17th - World Hemophilia Day. The anniversary edition of the campaign in Bulgaria is under the international slogan: "Early diagnosis - the first step towards care".
This year, efforts are focused not only on hemophilia, but also on lesser-known diseases such as von Willebrand disease and bleeding disorders in women. The emphasis is on the critical need to recognize the "silent" symptoms that often go undiagnosed for years.
The "TOGETHER" Bike Ride: When and Where?
To express our solidarity and support an active lifestyle for people with rare diseases, we are organizing a large-scale event:
- Date: April 25th, Saturday
- Time: 11:00 AM
- Place: In front of the "Morsko Kazino" Cultural Center, Varna
"The correct diagnosis is the gateway to care. Without it there is no treatment, and without treatment there is no progress" - Cesar Gardio, President of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH).
Why is it important to talk about early diagnosis?
While hemophilia is often detected at an early age, many other bleeding disorders remain hidden. The focus is particularly important on women and girls, in whom the symptoms of von Willebrand disease are often overlooked or masked by other medical conditions.
The bike ride is open to everyone! Let's show our support together for the community of about 650 people in Bulgaria who are fighting these rare diseases. We are expecting you!
