Important for travelers on the Trakia motorway: When traffic will be restored and where roadworks are underway

The Road Infrastructure Agency has announced changes to traffic on the Trakia motorway effective June 19. Find out when the renovated section near Pazardzhik will open, what the restrictions are for heavy trucks, and where traffic jams are expected.

Traffic to be restored at the 55th - 60th km of Trakia Motorway

Normal traffic in the Sofia-bound lane of the Trakia Motorway in the section between the 55th and 60th km (Pazardzhik district) will be restored from 8:00 a.m. on June 19. Repairs began on June 10, with traffic previously operating in both directions in the Burgas-bound lane.

Heavy goods vehicle restrictions

Important for drivers: To facilitate travel, trucks over 12 tons will be stopped during peak hours on June 19, 21, 26, 28, and July 3 and 5.

Heavy goods vehicles will be diverted along the Sub-Balkan road (Road I-6) during the following intervals:

Exception: The restriction does not apply to trucks transporting hazardous goods, perishable goods, live animals, or passengers.

Ongoing repairs along the route

The Road Infrastructure Agency urges drivers to drive with caution and observe the temporary signage in sections where repair work is underway.
