Traffic to be restored at the 55th - 60th km of Trakia Motorway
Normal traffic in the Sofia-bound lane of the Trakia Motorway in the section between the 55th and 60th km (Pazardzhik district) will be restored from 8:00 a.m. on June 19. Repairs began on June 10, with traffic previously operating in both directions in the Burgas-bound lane.
Heavy goods vehicle restrictions
Important for drivers: To facilitate travel, trucks over 12 tons will be stopped during peak hours on June 19, 21, 26, 28, and July 3 and 5.
Heavy goods vehicles will be diverted along the Sub-Balkan road (Road I-6) during the following intervals:
- June 19 (Friday): 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- June 21 (Sunday): 3:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Exception: The restriction does not apply to trucks transporting hazardous goods, perishable goods, live animals, or passengers.
Ongoing repairs along the route
- Sofia District: Repairs to the Burgas-bound lane between the 33rd and 39th km. Traffic is being switched in stages depending on congestion. Completion is expected by the end of June.
- Stara Zagora District: 11 km (218th – 229th km) are being renovated in the direction of Sofia. Traffic is being diverted in both directions in the Burgas-bound lane.
- Yambol District: Restriction in the Sofia-bound lane at the 284th – 285th km due to a joint repair.
The Road Infrastructure Agency urges drivers to drive with caution and observe the temporary signage in sections where repair work is underway.
