Drivers must be extremely careful when passing through Blagoevgrad, as a large-scale infrastructure repair on a key road section starts today. The Road Infrastructure Agency officially announced the introduction of a special mode on the Sofia - Kulata direction.
The specific restrictions affect the 2.4-kilometer section of first-class road I-1/E79, which covers the stretch between the intersection with third-class road III-1006 and the overpass above "Yane Sananski" Street. The location includes the southern city exit, immediately next to the Lukoil gas station.
To minimize traffic pressure, experts have developed an alternative route for traffic from the Kulata direction to Blagoevgrad. Vehicles will be redirected according to the following scheme: from Struma highway to the Zelendol road junction, then along third-class road III-106 to the connection with first-class road I-1 and through the Pokrovnishko Shose junction.
The good news for travelers from Kulata to Sofia is that they will be able to pass directly on the Struma highway without additional detours. The agency emphasizes that the repair is extremely necessary to ensure traffic safety.
