In 2025, 80 babies (39 boys and 41 girls) were born with the financial support of Varna Municipality's in-vitro fertilization (IVF) program. This is more than the 75 babies in 2024. The program, established 12 years ago, assists families with reproductive problems. Varna Municipality is among the first in the country to implement such a measure.

Since the beginning of the program, 361 children have been born, and in January alone, 4 babies were born. The municipality finances research and procedures not covered by the state program, as well as IVF procedures with the couple's own genetic material or for couples who do not meet the criteria for state funding.

Financial support reaches up to 1022 euros for individual activities and up to 1790 euros for donor programs, with the aim of expanding access to treatment and giving more couples a real chance at parenthood. The "Healthcare" Directorate of the municipality provides consultations and assistance in the preparation of documentation.
