A new home for the families of children undergoing treatment in Burgas
The Ronald McDonald House Charities Bulgaria Foundation is planning the construction of the first of its kind "Ronald McDonald House" in the country. The initiative is aimed at the families of children who need long-term treatment in Burgas.
"The construction of the house will support families with children admitted to the new "St. Anastasia" Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment of Children's Diseases, as well as young patients undergoing outpatient procedures," notes Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
Key facts about the project:
- Location: A plot in the "Zornitsa" residential complex with an area of 2,881 square meters.
- Capacity: A three-story building with 15 private family rooms.
- Amenities: Common kitchen, laundry room, storage areas, and zones for rest and play.
- Funding: The Foundation is fully covering the design, construction, and maintenance, at no cost to municipal funds.
The proposal to grant building rights for 30 years will be voted on by the Municipal Council on August 25. Once approved, the building is expected to be put into operation within three years.
