A Revolutionary Charter for Sustainable Tourism was officially presented on July 29, 2025, marking a turning point in the ecological development of the Bulgarian tourism sector. The document, developed jointly by the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Tourism, aims for a radical change in sectoral practices.
Key participants such as the Bulgarian Tourism Chamber have already signed the strategic document, which functions as a modern ethical code. The innovative initiative emphasizes the integration of three key components: preservation of the natural environment, conservation of cultural heritage, and implementation of socially responsible management models.
The Charter represents an open platform for inclusion, which invites municipalities, business organizations, and civil associations to become part of the large-scale transformation. Through this approach, the goal is to build a sustainable and responsible tourism model that balances economic interests with environmental principles.
