Today and tomorrow, in the heart of Bulgaria, an official visit begins, bearing the imprint of long-standing friendship and strategic partnership. Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok arrives in the country at the invitation of Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev. The news was confirmed by the press secretariat of the Bulgarian President, revealing a program rich in diplomatic meetings and cultural events.

This visit, spanning today and tomorrow, coincides with the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian Friendship. The spirit of these close ties can be felt on the streets of the capital and in the cities where the events will take place. During the meetings between the presidents and their delegations, many topics are expected to be discussed. The focus will be on the opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Hungary. Diplomats will seek ways to deepen cooperation in key areas such as the economy, energy, trade, and the transport sector. Education and science, tourism, sports, and culture are also in their sights. Questions of the European and international agenda, as well as the current challenges to security, will undoubtedly be addressed.

The program also includes cultural highlights. Today, the two presidents will visit the Rodope Dramatic Theatre "Nikolai Haitov" in Smolyan. The press secretariat announced that the exhibition "In Memory of an Enchantment" and a musical-poetic concert will be presented there. These events are dedicated to the Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian Friendship and the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Hungarian poet and translator of numerous Bulgarian works, László Nagy, who has also been an honorary citizen of Smolyan since 1976. Before that, during the day, the presidents will visit Bachkovo Monastery and the "László Nagy" house museum in Smolyan.

The Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian Friendship, which has been celebrated on October 19 since 2016, will be marked with a series of cultural events in Bulgaria and Hungary.
