A final farewell to one of Bulgaria's heroes
Bulgaria says goodbye to one of its modern heroes, Vice President Iliana Iotova said to journalists at the memorial service for Major General (ret.) Alexander Alexandrov – a military pilot, cosmonaut, scientist, and officer.
"A worthy Bulgarian officer, our cosmonaut, the man who dedicated his life to Bulgaria, its glory, and space science," Iotova shared.
She expressed hope that the legacy he leaves behind will be taken up by his young colleagues and the institutions, as it is thanks to him that Bulgaria received global recognition as a spacefaring nation.
