Bulgaria's position on the war in Ukraine
Prime Minister Rumen Radev refuted speculations about contradictions in the government's line regarding the war in Ukraine. In a statement to journalists, he emphasized that the Foreign Minister's visit to Kyiv was aimed at continuing the bilateral dialogue in energy and the economy.
"Bulgaria is part of the common European decisions, but Bulgaria will not provide and is not providing weapons and financial resources," Radev emphasized.
He clarified that the minister attended Ukraine's official celebrations by invitation but did not sign any declarations committing the country to military aid.
Focus on Budget 2026
Regarding state finances, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for transparency:
- Revealing the truth about the actual state of the finances.
- Introducing strict rules for financial discipline.
- Covering accumulated old debts that weigh on the current budget deficit.
Radev pointed out that capital expenditures include priority clearing of delayed payments in order to build a stronger foundation for future development.
