The educational landscape for Ukrainian refugees in Bulgaria reveals serious challenges to their comprehensive social adaptation. Official UNESCO statistical data confirm a large-scale migration flow, with over 160,000 Ukrainian citizens receiving temporary protection status on Bulgarian territory.

The paradox lies in the educational dynamics - a significant percentage of children prefer distance learning through national Ukrainian electronic platforms, instead of directly engaging with the Bulgarian educational system. This phenomenon raises serious questions about integration processes and communication barriers.

Studies show that less than half of the registered refugees actually remain in the country, which further complicates adaptation processes. The lack of direct contact with Bulgarian peers and the learning environment can have long-term consequences for the social integration of young Ukrainian citizens.

Experts emphasize that distance learning, although convenient, carries risks of isolation and difficult communication. A key point is motivating children to actively participate in the Bulgarian educational space, by providing the necessary linguistic and psychological support mechanisms.

Institutions are faced with the challenge of creating flexible models that combine preserving Ukrainian educational identity with opportunities for comprehensive integration into the Bulgarian learning environment.
