Police operation in Burgas: Drug depot dismantled in "Rudnik" district
A successful police operation in the territory of Burgas has led to the arrest of a 39-year-old man and the seizure of narcotic substances worth nearly 200,000 euros. Investigators revealed that the detainee was using a trailer as a storage facility for drugs.
"Upon the officers' approach, the detainee locked himself inside and attempted to set the trailer on fire to destroy the evidence, but his attempt was thwarted," reported the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.
What quantities were seized?
- 10 kg of marijuana of the popular "Amnesia" variety;
- 2 kg of methamphetamine;
- 260 grams of cocaine;
- "Drusan chai" (spiked tea) – a dangerous mixture of herbs treated with acetone solutions.
According to investigative data, the goods were intended for distribution in resorts along the Southern Black Sea coast during the upcoming season.
What is next for the perpetrator?
The detainee has a criminal record and two effective sentences. Proceedings have been initiated against him under Article 354A of the Penal Code. If found guilty, he faces 5 to 15 years in prison and a substantial fine. The prosecutor's office is preparing a request for permanent detention, and the possibility of other suspects in the case has not been ruled out.
Meanwhile, earlier today, another operation was conducted in the "Meden Rudnik" residential complex, during which another man was detained for the production and distribution of methamphetamine.
