Anti-drug operation in Sozopol
A large-scale specialized police operation led to the confiscation of a large quantity of laughing gas and narcotic substances in the resort town of Sozopol. The incident was identified around 02:50 AM in the area of a popular nightclub.
Police teams detained a 37-year-old man with a criminal record from the village of Ivaylovo, in whose possession cocaine and laughing gas accessories were found.
Details on the seized substances
During a subsequent search of the detainee's private vehicle, law enforcement authorities discovered an impressive amount of unregulated goods:
- Approximately 30 grams of cocaine;
- 1460 canisters of laughing gas;
- Nearly 300 balloons for consumption.
The total value of the seized items is estimated at nearly 18,000 euros, with the laughing gas alone amounting to 15,000 euros.
Increased control along the Southern Black Sea coast
The offender has been detained for 24 hours, and a fast-track proceeding has already been initiated in the case. The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas stated categorically that checks for the sale and use of laughing gas will continue throughout the entire summer season. Control will be intensified, surprise-based, and grounded in operational data in all resorts along the Southern Black Sea coast.
