Specialized police operation against car thieves in the Burgas region
Police in Burgas have detained two Georgian citizens who specialized in thefts from parked cars using technical devices. The operation was carried out following an increase in reports of missing items and money from vehicles in the region.
The device intercepts the signal from the car's remote control and prevents it from locking, without the owner realizing that their car is unlocked.
Case details:
- The first perpetrator (53) was caught in Aheloy while attempting a theft from a Ford C-Max with Russian registration.
- A specialized jamming device was found in his vehicle.
- The second accomplice (46) was located and detained in the village of Ravda while driving an Audi A6.
A fast-track proceeding has been initiated regarding the case. Law enforcement authorities urge drivers to physically check if their vehicles are locked before leaving them unattended.
