Critical congestion has paralyzed the road artery between Nessebar and Sunny Beach, caused by an overcrowded tourist season and ongoing road repairs.

The summer tourist peak put a serious test on the road infrastructure between Nessebar and Sunny Beach, as on July 27, 2025, the transport situation reached critical levels. Kilometer-long columns of cars occupied the bypass route, turning the journey into a true challenge for drivers.

The Regional Road Administration in Burgas confirmed the unprecedented load caused by the explosive tourist flow. The northern direction towards the resort complex is particularly problematic, with traffic moving extremely slowly and essentially blocked.

An additional factor in the transport chaos is the ongoing repair activities near the South Entrance of Sunny Beach. Narrowed road lanes and manual regulation of intersections by police officers further slow down the movement of motor vehicles.

Drivers are categorical - movement is practically impossible during morning hours between 09:00 and 12:00, as well as in the afternoon after 17:00, when the tourist flow is most intense. Alternative routes through Ravda and Tankovo are recommended as a possible solution to bypass the congestion.

Local authorities and road services are taking emergency measures. Traffic Police in Burgas has mobilized additional teams to control traffic, and the Road Infrastructure Agency actively advises drivers to exercise extreme caution and patience.

The forecasts are more than alarming - congestion is expected to continue in the coming days, with the introduction of temporary one-way sections being discussed to alleviate traffic. The recommendation to travelers is to plan their trip with an additional time buffer and monitor the current road situation through official information channels.

The transport collapse is an eloquent indicator of the need for urgent infrastructure investments and better planning of resort routes.
