Modernization of Bulgarian port infrastructure

Bulgaria is taking decisive steps toward transforming its ports from isolated terminals into modern intermodal logistics centers. This was made clear during the "Green Transition Forum 6.0", where Deputy Minister of Transport Anna Natova outlined the future of the sector.

A key goal is to create a transport system in which different modes of transport work seamlessly together.

Main priorities for the transport sector:

High technologies in maritime and river transport

Bulgaria is already a leader in traffic management in the Black Sea region. Integrated electronic systems for document exchange significantly increase the competitiveness of the logistics chain. The Ministry is preparing the implementation of a similar system for river ports, which is expected to become operational next year.

It is important to note that the focus is not solely on new construction, but on the maintenance and modernization of existing infrastructure, Natova emphasized.
