The political landscape in Washington is shaken by a series of dramatic events related to revelations about the so-called "Epstein files". President Donald Trump took an unprecedented step by announcing a massive lawsuit against media mogul Rupert Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal for the impressive sum of 20 billion dollars.

In the "Offensive" show, Professor Yonko Mermerski provided expert commentary on the events, describing it as another "deep state operation". According to his analysis, the so-called "client list" of Epstein, which MAGA circles expected to compromise high-ranking Democrats, actually does not exist.

Additional tension was caused by the unexpected dismissal of the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, who until recently was a prosecutor directly involved in the investigation. Mermerski interpreted this move as part of Trump's strategy to "clean up the services".

Parallel to the expansion of the scandal, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino threatened to resign due to interdepartmental conflicts. The Minister of Justice, Pam Bondi - close to the president - is already preparing to publicly disclose key documents in the case.

In addition, Trump unexpectedly ordered a review of Alcatraz prison's status, considering the possibility of using it again to detain serious criminals and illegal immigrants. This plan was sharply criticized by the opposition Democrats as an infringement on human rights.

Professor Mermerski also drew attention to another geopolitical aspect - the new agreement between the United Kingdom and Germany for military cooperation. In his opinion, this agreement undermines NATO's unity and indirectly benefits Russia's interests.

According to expert analysis, Trump insists that allies take on their financial commitments under Article 3 of the NATO charter before claiming protection under Article 5. Mermerski predicts that the next 50 days will be critical for the course of the war in Ukraine and potential diplomatic negotiations with Russia.

The political crisis continues to escalate, with each passing week revealing new unexpected dimensions of this complex and multilayered case.
