The courtroom in Nesebar will be the epicenter of tension today, when magistrates will consider the case of an 18-year-old young driver who caused a large-scale incident in the popular resort of Sunny Beach.
Official sources from the Burgas District Court confirmed that a decision will be made regarding the detention of the young man - whether he will remain in custody, be released on bail, or receive an alternative measure of restraint.
According to information from the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, the tragedy unfolded on August 14, when an electric vehicle ran over five people. Among the victims are three children, with one of them and his mother being the most seriously injured, admitted to intensive care in critical condition.
Additional drama is added by the fact that the perpetrator's parents are employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which puts the case in a particularly sensitive context.
