Serious crime in the village of Novachene
The Botevgrad District Court has imposed a "remand in custody" measure on 24-year-old G.G. The man is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a 5-year-old child with whom he shares a household. The incident is classified as domestic violence.
The act was committed with direct intent, and the prescribed penalty is imprisonment from 3 to 15 years.
Details on the condition of the injured child
On August 11, the accused inflicted multiple blows on the minor's body. The injuries are extremely severe and life-threatening:
- Head trauma and brain damage;
- Facial trauma;
- Rib and jaw fractures.
Timeline of the rescue operation
After the beating, the child was transported by the mother to the hospital in Montana. Due to the critical condition, the medics immediately contacted the police, and the child was later transported by medical helicopter to a specialized clinic in Sofia.
The investigation continues; witnesses have been questioned, and a forensic medical examination has been prepared. The court's ruling is subject to appeal before the Sofia District Court.
