A 26-year-old man died early this morning in the Burgas neighborhood of 'Pobeda' after consuming so-called 'drugged tea,' NOVA reported.

The victim was found in a helpless state after suffering a sudden convulsion as a result of using the narcotic substance. Despite attempts to help, the young man died on the spot. According to initial data, this is a case of fatal poisoning that occurred after the systematic use of the dangerous chemical cocktail.

Expert analyses indicate that this type of synthetic drug is prepared by soaking plant matter with horse tranquilizers and highly aggressive household chemicals, including bleach and cleaning agents.

The case is yet another incident related to the distribution of 'drugged tea' in the region, after months of police breaking up a number of home laboratories for preparing the substance.

Last December, a 24-year-old woman died during a party after smoking a hookah in Blagoevgrad.

In the summer of 2025, 36-year-old Yavor Georgiev also passed away in Varna. His friends protested, suspecting excessive police powers during his detention, but the triple forensic medical examination proved that the death was due to the intake of a deadly cocktail. Cocaine, ethanol, benzoylecgonine (a cocaine metabolite) were found in his blood, and cocaine, cannabis, and alcohol were found in his urine.
