A severe natural disaster struck Mount Harbina in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lightning struck a flock of 30 sheep during intense thunderstorms and heavy rains.

Natural disaster on Mount Hrbljina

Last night, Mount Hrbljina in Bosnia and Herzegovina was the scene of a serious incident caused by extreme weather conditions. A powerful lightning strike hit a flock of sheep, resulting in the death of about 30 animals, reported the Bosnian national television BHRT.

"Thunderstorms covered the entire country, with rainfall of 100 mm per square meter recorded in the Bugojno municipality area in just one hour," the report states.

High level of danger in the Balkans

Local authorities are urging farmers in mountainous areas to be extremely vigilant when weather warnings are issued, as such incidents involving livestock are a serious risk in the absence of suitable shelters.
