Grim statistics: Two dead and dozens injured in road accidents across the country

Over the past 24 hours, 23 serious road accidents have been recorded. The Ministry of Interior reports an alarming increase in road fatalities since the beginning of 2025.

A grim toll on the road

The past 24 hours have proven extremely tragic for Bulgarian roads. According to data from the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the country was shaken by 23 serious accidents that claimed the lives of two people, while another 27 were injured.

The situation in the capital

In Sofia, the situation was relatively calmer, but not without incidents. One serious and 20 minor road accidents were registered, in which one person was injured.

Statistics show that since the beginning of the year, the number of people who have died in road accidents has reached 235.

An alarming trend since the beginning of the year

The figures for 2025 outline a serious traffic safety problem:

A comparative analysis shows that for the same period last year, the death toll was 210. This means that in 2025, there is an increase of 25 road fatalities, which is a cause for serious concern among institutions and society.
