Incident involving an unauthorized flight near the sea

A serious incident shook the area between Ravda and Nessebar after a powered hang glider with two people on board crashed into the sea. The report was received by the Coordination Center for Search and Rescue during aviation accidents this morning at 10:36 a.m.

Revelations from the DG "Civil Aviation Administration"

Inspectors had discovered the machine hidden in the rocks even before the incident, following a report from the regional governor of Burgas.

The inspections revealed alarming facts: the aircraft was not registered, the engine was heavily corroded, and numerous makeshift repairs and visible technical defects were found on the propeller.

Violations and lack of safety

Despite the reports made to the 112 emergency line by the inspectors, the machine took off illegally, which led to the fatal outcome. The National Board for Investigation of Accidents is currently conducting an in-depth investigation into the case.
