Tragedy: One dead and one injured in fires over the past 24 hours

Yesterday, 69 fires were extinguished in Bulgaria, resulting in one death and one injury. The cause of some incidents is under investigation, while others were caused by malfunctions in electrical installations.

One person died and one was injured in fires during the past 24 hours, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" (GDPSPC) announced on its website.  A total of 69 fires were extinguished in the country.

The body of an 88-year-old man was found in a house fire in the village of Bolyarino. The house was also destroyed, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

An 80-year-old woman was also injured in a fire in an apartment in Varna. The cause of the incident was a malfunction in the electrical installation of an air conditioning unit.

Fire crews responded to a total of 120 calls for incidents in the country.

18 fires occurred with material damage, seven of which were in residential buildings. 51 fires occurred without material damage.

42 rescue activities and support operations were carried out. Of these, two were in accidents, and 38 were for providing technical assistance.
