A dramatic railway incident caused a large-scale interruption of transport traffic in the capital's railway hub. Official sources from Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) confirmed the massive delay of trains between Poduyane and Iskur stations.
According to initial information, a person was hit while illegally crossing the railway line. BDZ employees informed that investigative actions require a temporary suspension of train traffic.
Several train compositions are specifically affected: fast train №8657 on the Sofia-Varna route, which is stopped at Poduyane station, passenger train №30116 from Karlovo to Sofia, fast train №1614 from Svilengrad, and passenger train №10123 on the Sofia-Septemvri route.
Transport authorities specified that traffic will only be restored after the investigation is completed and the railway track is cleared. Passengers should be patient and follow the current information from BDZ's official channels.
