Incident with the new trains in Blagoevgrad

Just days after the official commissioning of the modern “Skoda” electric multiple units, one of them was the target of an act of vandalism at Blagoevgrad station. The train was spray-painted, which provoked a sharp reaction from the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

“Protecting the rolling stock is a shared responsibility,” the ministry emphasized.

Call to protect public property

Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Peev appealed to citizens to take care of the new acquisitions, which were secured with public resources. The goal of the new trains is to offer a more comfortable and modern travel experience for thousands of passengers.

Actions taken

We remind you that the investment amounting to 261.4 million euros is funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. It is expected that a total of 60 new trains, including those from the manufacturer Alstom, will be in operation by September.
