Incident involving a passenger train on the Pernik - Sofia line
Train traffic between Vladaya and Gorna Banya has been suspended, reported the State Enterprise "National Railway Infrastructure Company" (NRIC).
The probable cause of the incident is the expansion of the railway track due to the high temperatures today.
Today around 2:00 PM, the penultimate wheelset of the last bogie of an electric passenger train derailed. At the moment, there are no reports of injured passengers or staff.
Traffic organization
- Emergency teams from NRIC are working to clear the railway track.
- Trains from Petrich to Sofia and from Sofia to Dupnitsa are being diverted via the Pernik - Voluyak - Sofia route.
- Affected passengers on the Sofia-Radomir and Blagoevgrad-Sofia lines are being transported by buses in the section between Dragichevo and Gorna Banya.
