Strict ban on pyrotechnic products in Sozopol - important measures for public safety

The mayor of Sozopol, Tihomir Yanakiev, issues an official order that restricts the use of pyrotechnic devices in the municipality's territory to prevent fire incidents.

Official Order No. 8-Z-789 dated 25.07.2025, issued by the Mayor of Sozopol Municipality Tihomir Yanakiev, introduces definitive restrictions on the use of pyrotechnic materials in accordance with the current legislation on weapons and explosives.

The order categorically prohibits the use of illumination materials, including: • Fireworks • Bengal fires • Chinese lanterns • Pirate bombs • Other flammable pyrotechnic devices

The prohibition covers the following specific zones: • Open public spaces with large crowds • Residential buildings and their adjacent territories • Dining and entertainment establishments

The motives for such strict restrictive measures are related to the increasing risk of fire occurrence and the need for preventive actions to ensure citizens' safety.

The municipal administration makes an explicit request to all residents and guests of Sozopol to follow the introduced rules and show high responsibility.

When violations are identified, it is recommended to immediately report to phone 112 or the municipal administration. The goal is joint efforts to prevent potential incidents and protect the public interest.
