The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has provided alarming information regarding road safety in Bulgaria. In the last 24 hours, 18 severe accidents were registered in the country, in which 23 people were injured. Fortunately, there is no information about fatalities in these incidents.
Situation in the capital
Sofia remains a hotspot in terms of road incidents. In the capital, the following were reported:
- 31 minor accidents;
- 3 severe accidents;
- 3 injured persons.
There are no registered cases of mortality in the recent incidents in the capital.
Statistics for the month and the year
The data shows a serious trend towards increasing road incidents in Bulgaria:
- Since the beginning of the month: Severe accidents have reached 288, with 362 people injured and 18 fatalities.
- Since the beginning of the year: The total number of severe accidents is 1530, with 1907 injured and 109 fatalities.
Authorities are calling on drivers for increased attention and strict adherence to road traffic rules to avoid new tragedies.
