The Medical Supervision Executive Agency has launched a large-scale investigation into an incident involving a child at the hospital in Karnobat. The investigation covers multiple healthcare institutions, including Karnobat Hospital, Burgas University Hospital, and the Emergency Medical Services Center.
The experts' self-initiated investigation followed a series of media publications that revealed shocking details about the incident. Official sources confirmed that a two-and-a-half-year-old boy fell from a second-floor window of the hospital building.
The dramatic incident was registered on July 30 around 2:30 PM, according to the Regional Police Department in Burgas. The injured child was immediately transported to the University Hospital for Active Treatment in Burgas, where he is currently in critical condition.
The Minister of Health, Associate Professor Dr. Silvi Kirilov, will be personally informed about the results of the comprehensive investigation, which started immediately after the initial reports.
