Sozopol is preparing to celebrate the month of December in 2025 with a rich festive program, which promises a variety of music, traditional customs, and entertainment for all ages.
The festive events will begin on December 5th, with a concert by the vocal group "Sozopolski Glascheta" and the little snowflakes from "Roberta Ballet" at 4:30 PM. At 5:30 PM, the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree and the town's festive decorations will take place, marking the beginning of the Christmas celebrations. The same day, the action "Gift for Every Child" will also start - an appeal to everyone to donate a toy and make the children happy. A mailbox for letters to Santa Claus will also be placed, filling the hearts of the little residents of the city with excited anticipation.
December 6th will be dedicated to St. Nicholas Day, with the celebration starting at 8:00 AM with a festive liturgy in the church "St. George". Afterwards, at 10:00 AM, there will be a requiem service and blessing of the water, also in the church. At 11:20 AM, a procession will begin towards the port, where at 12:00 PM the traditional boat launching into the sea for throwing wreaths will take place. From 11:00 AM, the photo exhibition "Old Albums" with archival materials dedicated to the fishermen of Sozopol will be opened, and in parallel, a children's art workshop "Sea Magic" will be held. At 12:30 PM, "Paella with Black Sea fish" will be prepared for all residents and guests of the city in the giant pan of Nikolai Todorov - Nick, the first Bulgarian to reach the Top 10 of the World Paella Championship in Valencia in 2024. At 1:00 PM, there will be a concert by the bands for variety and old urban songs to the Community Center "Otets Paisiy – 1896" and the choir of the Society for Bulgarian-Greek Friendship "Apollonia". In the evening, from 2:00 PM, it will end with a concert by the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Estraden Prevrat", including Ivan Gatev, Radi Estradi, Martin Stoyanov, Vasil Smokov, Borislav Rashkov and Ognyan Kiosovski, who will present bg disco hits from the 80s.
December 7th will be dedicated to the celebration of salted fish. The opening is scheduled for 11:00 AM, followed by a competition with prizes and a bazaar of fish products at 11:30 AM. At 12:00 PM, there will be a presentation of specialties from local restaurateurs, and at 1:00 PM, there will be a master class by chef Boris Petrov. In the evening, from 3:00 PM, we will enjoy a concert by Tony Dimitrova. Throughout the day, the art bazaar "Sea Inspiration" will be working.
December 8th will be marked with a Christmas Horoteka – folk dances for everyone on Kulata Square from 6:00 PM.
On December 12th, from 6:00 PM, there will be a concert by the Em-Em band, which will present rock, blues, and country music.
December 13th will offer two concerts – at 4:00 PM in the Cinema Hall of the Community Center "Otets Paisiy – 1896" a Christmas concert will be held, and at 6:00 PM on Kulata Square there will be a concert by Dido Petkov.
On December 14th, from 5:00 PM, KMDM band will delight the audience with rockabilly music from the 50s.
December 15th will again offer a Christmas Horoteka from 6:00 PM.
On December 19th, from 6:00 PM, GP band will perform music, with Velimir Medarov among the participants.
December 20th will offer a festive show by the Antea Theater "How Important It Is to Be Unserious" in the Cinema Hall of the Community Center "Otets Paisiy – 1896" from 6:00 PM.
December 21st will begin with a charity bazaar and a concert by the children from the Sunday school and kindergartens from 11:00 AM. At 12:00 PM, there will be a concert by the Paradox duet – Simona Marinova and Diana Teneva from "Bulgaria's Got Talent", and at 3:00 PM Santa Claus will delight the children of the city with gifts.
December 22nd will again offer a Christmas Horoteka from 6:00 PM.
December 27th will be marked with a concert by the Four band from 5:00 PM.
On December 28th, from 5:00 PM, there will be a concert by the Rock classic band.
The last evening of December 31st will be welcomed with a DJ from 9:00 PM, followed by music by the "Karandila" Orchestra and Evdokia and the "El Greco" band with Stefanos and Rosen. All this will create an unforgettable festive atmosphere.
A month filled with music, dance, and traditional customs is coming, which promises to delight both the residents and guests of Sozopol.
