The DOCK 2026 International Festival is coming to Burgas
Between September 17 and 22, 2026, Burgas will become a center for documentary historical cinema. The ninth edition of the DOCK festival offers a rich program focused on key figures and events from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The festival opens on September 17 with the premiere of the film "Sylvie Vartan. Out of Love" in the presence of director Ema Konstantinova and screenwriter Georgi Toshev.
Program Highlights
- Competitive selection: Films about figures such as Romain Gary, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Adolf Hitler, and others.
- Novelty: First competitive selection for short films and an Audience Award.
- Supporting program: Thematic focus "80 years since the end of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom" with a series of documentary films.
- Educational module: "Introduction to (Film) Documentaries" with the participation of Prof. Petar Stoyanovich on September 22.
The international jury, chaired by Boya Harizanova, will evaluate the films in the competition program. All screenings have free admission. The festival is held with the support of the Municipality of Burgas and the National Film Center.
