290 snowplows are working on the national road network, and the roads are passable in winter conditions. Meteorological forecasts predict increased snowfall.
The passage of heavy goods vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers is temporarily restricted through the “Rozhen”, “Prevala” and “Pechinsko” passes in the Smolyan region, on road III-865 Ardino – Kardzhali in the Kardzhali region, road II-19 Simitli – Razlog through the “Predela” pass and road II-84 Yundola – Razlog in the Blagoevgrad region, road II-84 Velingrad – Yundola and road III-842 Belovo – Yundola in the Pazardzhik region. The movement of vehicles over 12 tons is restricted through the “Troyan” pass. Passage through the “Prevala” and “Pamporovo” passes is mandatory with chains.
It is possible to close sections for treatment with inert materials, as well as temporary restriction of traffic in case of wind, snow drifts or poor visibility.
The “Road Infrastructure Agency” calls on drivers to be prepared for winter conditions, to drive at an appropriate speed and to avoid risky maneuvers.
