Slyven Metropolitan Arseniy will lead the service in the cathedral church "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Burgas on January 1, 2026, the metropolis announced. On the holiday Thursday, believers will have the opportunity to participate in the Basil's Liturgy, which is traditionally served on big holidays and at the beginning of the new year.

It is named after St. Basil the Great and is distinguished by a more extensive rite, including additional ektenias, troparia, and stichera, through which prayers are offered for blessing, health, and spiritual peace. The liturgy will begin at 9:30 a.m. After it, a New Year's moleben will be served from 11:00 a.m. The laity will pray for God's protection and grace for the new year. The moleben will include readings from psalms, troparia, and short prayers, through which gratitude is expressed for the past year and petitions are made for the health and well-being of the faithful and their families.

In Burgas, most churches will have morning liturgies and short molebens for the New Year, led by local priests.
