A severe storm hit Skopje: destructive winds and fallen crosses

A powerful storm in North Macedonia has caused serious damage in Skopje. Hurricane-force winds blew off roofs, knocked down trees, and even toppled a 60-meter flagpole. See the situation in the city.

Hurricane-force winds and destruction in Skopje

Severe weather conditions have hit the capital of North Macedonia, as hurricane-force winds and torrential rain caused extensive damage. Social media was flooded with footage showing torn-off roofs, fallen traffic lights, and broken trees.

"Together with the Crisis Management Headquarters, we are on the ground; all available resources are in action to protect the citizens," stated Mayor Orce Georgievski.

Damage has also been reported in Kumanovo, Dojran, and Strumica, where the bad weather continues to cause disruptions. Local authorities are urging the population to exercise increased caution and follow official guidelines.
