Driver tests positive for cocaine after crash on Petrohan pass

Police detained a driver who tested positive for cocaine after a crash on the Petrohan pass, the Montana regional police directorate said. Traffic through the pass was temporarily restricted, with cars using one lane.

Alcohol tests found nothing on either driver. The 55-year-old's drug test showed cocaine.

He was taken to hospital in Montana, where staff took a blood sample for lab tests. Police then held him for 24 hours at the district police station in Berkovitsa.

Pre-trial proceedings have started over the crash.
