Serious incident in Varna ends with an indictment

The District Prosecutor's Office in Varna has officially filed an indictment against a driver who caused a fatal accident in the area of the Cooperative Market on December 22 last year. The incident claimed the lives of two female pedestrians who were on the sidewalk.

"The driver is obliged at all times to control the motor vehicle he is driving, and in this case, the man did not fulfill this obligation," stated the spokesperson for the prosecutor's office, Radoslav Lazarov.

Reason for the tragedy: neglecting health

The investigation revealed that the driver suffered from epilepsy. An expert report established that he had not taken his prescribed medication for at least three days before the incident. The absence of medicinal components in his blood proved his recklessness, which led to the legal classification of "conscious negligence."

The case raises serious questions regarding traffic safety and the responsibility of drivers with chronic illnesses.
