The driver of the truck that caused the serious accident near Karnobat has been detained
The District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas has taken decisive action following the serious incident on the "Trakia" motorway, which occurred yesterday in the area of the town of Karnobat. The 56-year-old driver of the heavy goods vehicle has been charged and detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
The investigation established that, through negligence, the driver caused the death of one person and inflicted bodily injuries on two other road users.
Measures against the accused
- By decree of the supervising prosecutor, the driver's license has been revoked.
- A request is to be submitted to the court for the imposition of the most severe remand measure – "detention in custody".
The investigation into the case is ongoing, with all facts and circumstances surrounding the fatal collision being clarified.
