Court ruling against illegally acquired property in Varna
The Appellate Court of Varna has upheld a decision for the forfeiture to the state of property acquired through illegal means. The claim was filed by the Commission for Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CIAF) against two individuals with the initials M. B. P. and Z. A. P.
The court established a significant discrepancy between the defendants' legal income and the value of the property they acquired.
Confiscated assets:
- A 1,548 sq. m plot of land in the Baba Alino area;
- A passenger car;
- The cash equivalent of two alienated properties amounting to 133,386.50 BGN;
- Ideal shares of real estate contributed as an apport to a commercial company.
According to the magistrates, during the period 2013–2014, the individuals generated funds through criminal activity, including the creation of forged ownership documents and the organization of perjury. The decision is subject to appeal before the Supreme Court of Cassation.
