SOU "Lyuben Karavelov" in Nessebar opened its doors for a seminar dedicated to the topic "Education Without Borders – Working on the Erasmus+ Program". The event, which took place within the framework of Key Action 1 "Educational Mobility of Citizens" under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, was organized in connection with the implementation of project №2024-1-BG01-KA121-SCH-000207976. Pedagogical specialists from SOU "Lyuben Karavelov", as well as guest teachers from OU "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" in Ravda and SOU "Ivan Vazov" in Pomorie, gathered in the hall.
Those present had the opportunity to get acquainted with the achieved results and to exchange successful practices from the implemented mobilities included in the plan of the educational institution. Special attention was also paid to the process of accreditation of the school as an Erasmus+ program organization, highlighting the key steps that led to the coveted accreditation, and the accompanying activities for the successful implementation of international initiatives.
The students of SOU "Lyuben Karavelov" presented the results of two student mobilities, held in Istanbul and Prague. The students themselves, together with their accompanying teachers, shared their impressions of their stay abroad, emphasizing the acquired knowledge, developed skills, and acquired social and intercultural competencies. The challenges they faced were also discussed, and it was emphasized that their participation in the mobilities had a noticeable impact on their academic and personal development.
The third mobility, organized in Dorsten, Germany, and aimed at the pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff of the school, was presented by the teachers, including the director of SOU "Lyuben Karavelov", Mrs. Eva Zivildieva. The teachers shared their observations on German pedagogical practices, making a comparison with the Bulgarian educational system. The presentation included ideas and suggestions for approaches that could find a place in the Bulgarian educational environment, as well as results and impressions from participation in the mobility.
The seminar in Nessebar was a great success, with the guests actively participating with questions and comments. This created a lively discussion that contributed to a more complete presentation of good practices. There was a spirit of enthusiasm and a desire to share experience in the hall.
During the current school year, SOU "Lyuben Karavelov" plans to continue working on the Erasmus+ program, and in addition to the two student mobilities and one mobility for pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff, specialized courses for teachers are also planned. These courses aim to contribute to the development of teachers' professional skills, to enrich methodological approaches, and to introduce innovative practices in the learning process.
