From February 9th to 13th, 2026, AEG “Geo Milev” - Burgas will host an international meeting for the project “Active Learning Lab” (“Active Learning Lab” № 2024-1-BG01-KA122-SCH00024335), implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ program.
The visit is part of a collaboration between Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, and Spain, dedicated to social inclusion, cultural diversity, sustainable lifestyles, and digital technologies in education. Students are studying these topics in a real international environment.
The event began with a presentation of the project's results in the presence of partners from Germany and Finland, representatives of RUIO- Burgas, and guests from Burgas institutions and universities. Students demonstrated their knowledge of the Chinese language and culture through dances, calligraphy, poetry, and a translation competition. A rich folklore program and musical performances were organized.
“Participation in such international projects gives students much more than language skills. It builds confidence, adaptability, and acceptance of cultural diversity, encourages teamwork, and the ability to apply what is learned in real-life situations,” commented Mrs. Tatyana Shurelova, project manager.
The project promotes collaborative learning, critical thinking, and communication skills through innovative methods. Students and teachers from AEG “Geo Milev” have already participated in mobilities in Germany (focus: social inclusion) and Finland (focus: ecological practices).
An educational and cultural program is taking place in Burgas. Guests are participating in a walk around the city, and visits to Lake Atanasovsko, Nessebar, the Archaeological Museum, and the Salt Museum in Pomorie are planned. Integrated Learning (CLIL) and STEM lessons, graphic design and 3D modeling workshops, traditional crafts activities, and demonstrations of teaching foreign languages through Minecraft are also planned.
A visit to the partners from Spain is forthcoming. The project “Active Learning Lab” will conclude in May.
