The political party "Middle European Class" (MEC) insists that the administration of Burgas Municipality should cancel the increase in fees and services adopted at the end of October last year. This is stated in an official position from the group of municipal councilors of the party in the Municipal Council - Burgas, distributed to the media.
MEC reminds of the imposed act of violation of the Euro Law by the National Revenue Agency (NRA) against the municipal carrier "BurgasBus" due to the increase in the price of the city transport ticket. The group of municipal councilors raises the question of whether the same standard will be applied to the other municipal services.
According to them, the changes affect dozens of fees in almost all municipal enterprises, with the increase being twofold in some cases, and in others the increase is due to rounding up the values in euros in a higher direction.
As examples of significant price increases, the following are mentioned:
- The fee for using a burial place for up to 15 years, which has increased from 25.00 leva to 25.00 euros.
- The ticket for students and pensioners at the "Petya Dubarova" House Museum, which has been changed from 2.00 leva to 2.00 euros.
- The "audio guide" service on the island of "St. Anastasia", which now costs 5.00 euros instead of the previous 5.00 leva.
- The standard ticket to the island has increased in price from 18.00 leva to 9.50 euros.
- The ticket for visiting the bath of Suleiman the Magnificent in the "Aqua Calidae" Tourist Complex, the price of which has jumped from 6.00 leva to 3.50 euros.
- The rental of the "Petya Dubarova" hall in the "Sea Casino" Cultural Center, which has become 30.00 euros for one hour from 36.00 leva.
MEC states that the law should be applied equally to everyone and insists that at the next meeting of the Municipal Council, the administration propose a return to the old prices.
BTA reminds of an act of the NRA against "Burgasbus" for the increase in the price of the ticket, which according to the NRA represents an economically unjustified increase.
