Parliamentary clash: Attempt to terminate the agreement with Ukraine fails

The National Assembly rejected a draft resolution demanding that the Council of Ministers take action to terminate the cooperation agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine, signed on March 30 in Kyiv. The proposal, submitted by "Vazrazhdane", received only 10 votes "for", while 160 deputies voted "against", and 14 abstained.

"The National Assembly was not informed in advance about the intentions of the caretaker government," stated Angel Georgiev from "Vazrazhdane", emphasizing the need for parliamentary control over important foreign policy acts.

The debate revealed deep ideological differences regarding the country's foreign policy course and the powers of the caretaker cabinet. While the opposition insists on greater transparency, the ruling majority relied on institutional stability and compliance with constitutional norms.
