Today, the repair of the lane to Burgas on the eighth kilometer of the "Trakia" highway in the region of Pazardzhik is ending. This was announced by the Road Infrastructure Agency ("API").

The repair covers the section between the 90th and 98th kilometer.

The movement of vehicles will be redirected to the renovated lane, with one lane in the direction of Burgas and one lane for Sofia. Work in the section continues in the lane to Sofia. API notes that since the start of construction work on September 24, the teams of the maintenance company have been working daily with maximum mobilization. The goal is to complete the planned activities as quickly as possible, so as not to hinder the travel of citizens.

Our reporter on the spot noticed that the road workers, despite the intensive traffic, are continuing their work, striving to ensure maximum safety. There was tension around the machines and workers, but also a striving for professionalism.

Currently, the lane to Burgas is being repaired in sections of the highway in the territories of Sofia, Stara Zagora and Sliven regions. In the Sofia region, there is construction work on a 9-kilometer section between the 24th and 33rd kilometer. In the Sliven region, 11 kilometers are being repaired between the 262nd and 273rd kilometer. On October 9, repairs also began in the lane to Burgas on 10 km in the Stara Zagora region between the 208th and 218th kilometer. In all sections, traffic passes in both directions in the lane to Sofia, with one lane for Burgas and one to the capital.

In case of intensive traffic and to increase safety, reversible traffic is introduced. This provides for two lanes for Burgas and one for Sofia, or two lanes for those traveling to the capital and one in the direction of Burgas, to be organized depending on the traffic load. This traffic organization will be applied at the discretion of the "Traffic Police".

During the repair in the Stara Zagora region, traffic on the "Stara Zagora" road junction at the 208th kilometer is stopped. Cars cannot pass on the road connections from the highway to road I-5 in the direction of Stara Zagora, as well as from the first-class road coming from Stara Zagora and Haskovo to the highway in the direction of Burgas. Those moving in the direction from Sofia to Stara Zagora are redirected from the "Chirpan East" road junction (km 184+709) along road II-66 to Stara Zagora. A possible detour route for those traveling from Haskovo and Stara Zagora in the direction of Burgas is along the first-class roads I-5 Stara Zagora - Kazanlak and road I-6 Kazanlak - Burgas.

The technological project for the repair of the section provides for a complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, drainage activities, renovation of signs and restrictive systems, new markings, etc. Under good weather conditions, the estimated deadline for the completion of the repair in the Stara Zagora region is October 31.

The repair activities are assigned under the contract for current repair and maintenance of the "Trakia" highway to "Highways" EAD.

API apologizes to citizens for the inconvenience, but the repair activities are necessary to ensure traffic safety and to increase the comfort of travel. The appeal to drivers is to drive carefully, to follow the rules and the speed limit, not to undertake risky overtaking, with which they endanger the safety of all other travelers.

We remind you that on October 9, repairs began on the lane in the direction of Burgas in the Stara Zagora region from 208 to 218 km of the highway.
