Repair of the Dyulino Pass: New Deadlines and Challenges

The long-awaited repair of the Dyulino Pass, which has been ongoing for years, finally has a specific deadline. Minister of Regional Development Ivan Shishkov announced during parliamentary control that the project will be fully completed by mid-2027.

"The projected deadline for the quality completion of the repair is mid-2027. The road might be functional for the next tourist season," Shishkov stated.

Why was the repair stopped?

Construction activities were interrupted due to serious flaws in the initial design. The main problems include:

Problems for local residents

The closed route creates serious difficulties for access to the Nessebar villages of Koznitsa and Panitsovo. Residents face dangerous excavated streets and potholes in front of their homes. Currently, traffic is being directed via the detour route Burgas – Varna, through Obzor.

The Minister emphasized that the goal of the new measures is to avoid future errors by changing the ordinance for cadastral changes following uncovered violations by an official in the Baba Alino area.
