The management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held a strategic meeting with the newly elected rector of the Technical University - Sofia, Prof. Georgi Venkov. The discussion focused on key issues of interaction between the business community and the academic community.
The main emphasis of the conversation was on potential areas of joint activity, particularly in the field of high-tech solutions. Specifically, they discussed partnership opportunities in developing unmanned aerial systems, as well as advanced technologies for 3D printing, scanning, and digital modeling.
Prof. Venkov emphasized the importance of internationalization in higher education. According to him, international scientific presence and attracting established foreign researchers are critical factors in improving the quality of academic research and ensuring contemporary education that meets the dynamic requirements of the labor market.
During the meeting, the need to expand the legislative framework regulating the participation of state universities in commercial companies was also discussed. This approach is viewed as an effective instrument for commercializing joint research results.
Representatives of the BCCI and TU-Sofia exchanged opinions on the current results of the candidate student campaign. Special attention was paid to strategic areas of training, including energy, renewable energy sources, and aerospace engineering.
The meeting outlined the prospects for deepening the partnership between the leading industry organization and one of the most prestigious technical universities in Bulgaria. The goal is to create innovative mechanisms for knowledge and technology transfer between the academic community and the business sector.
Strategic cooperation between the BCCI and the Technical University - Sofia is viewed as a key factor for technological development and the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy in the modern digital era.
